Situated south of Peebles, Cademuir Plantation may be the smallest forest in the area but it is big on views. There are three short strenuous climbs on this route but the long grassy descent across The Whaum down the John Buchan Way more than makes up for those and the incredible views are also a perfect distraction!

We like… the views from Cademuir Hill really are incredible, particularly when you consider you are less than a km from the centre of a busy market town. Long descent on a grassy trail.

Watch out for… Three short steep climbs – can be a bit of a lung buster but worth it for the views. This is a popular forest for walking and horse-riding so please be considerate when passing other users.
