CMTB2-Damhead via the Glen

This route climbs up through Cardrona Forest to the top of Beards Hill before descending to the Glen over Orchard Rig. It then heads east to Damhead and follows the Fingland Burn into Elibank and Traquair Forest. A forest road carries you round the western edges of the forest before crossing the Southern Upland Way and descending back to Innerleithen. This is a versatile route with options to extend or shorten the ride.

We like… fantastic descent to the Glen over Orchard Rig. Big on spectacular views. The ride has a really remote feel. Plenty of options for extending the ride.

Watch out for… The descent to the Glen is off-camber in places and can be slippery when wet. Note: the cafe at Cardrona is currently shut.
