PMTB3-Manor Valley Epic

A challenging ride for experienced bikers along a section of the Southern Upland Way running southwest of Innerleithen. Some tough climbing over the lower slopes of Dunrig before an absolutely brilliant descent into the Manor Valley. Remote and wild –this memory-making route will leave you tired but with a huge smile on your face!

Summer 2025  * take the SUW option (shown on the map) into Blackhouse due to trees down on the forest road, its very hard to circumnavigate!

We like… The section over the Southern Upland Way and across to Glenrathope has a remote and wild feel to it. The descent into the Manor Valley is truly fantastic with spectacular scenery. BVT have affectionately named it the “Secret Valley”.

Watch out for… This route is extremely remote in places so be appropriately equipped for all weather conditions. A challenging climb up the SW side of Dun Rig  is 2.5 km long on landrover track has an average grade of 10% with 15% sections before the descent into the Manor Valley which is VERY loose and rough and rocky in places.
