Exploring one of the most scenic valleys in the Scottish Borders, this out and back ride follows the course of the Manor Water to the end of the valley at Manorhead. Steeped in history the Manor valley has yielded a Bronze Age hoard, an early Christian Gravestone, was where Queen Victoria almost brought her Scottish residence and more recently was home to the equestrian gold medallist Scott Brash.

We like… Spectacular views, very little traffic on the Manor road, sites of historical interest, great return if you get a tailwind on the way back! Good picnic spots by the river approaching Manorhead.

Watch out for… A few sniper potholes when wet, occasional sheep grazing by the side of the road. Outward headwind can be a bit of a killer if blowing from the south!
