An often overlooked bike route heading North West out of Peebles to the edge of the Pentland Hills. It was once an important sheep droving route and West Linton held one of the oldest annual sheep markets in Scotland. The Toll House is now a great tea room, a place where the sheep drovers of old used to pay to enter the village! The route passes the Great Polish Map of Scotland on its return.

We like… The rolling roads cross a superb landscape, the hills are more gradual. West Linton is ideally situated at the mid-point of the route and makes a good place to stop for coffee.

Watch out for… the route uses short sections of main road across high areas and can be exposed in winter.
