A circular route, heading south on a steady but picturesque climb over the Paddy Slack and then descending alongside the Yarrow Water to Selkirk. A fantastic introduction to the joys of Borders road cycling with a recommended café stop at the Waterwheel café in Selkirk.
We like… manageable distance for most cyclists, opportunity for extra-cycling activities at the Philiphaugh Salmon Viewing Centre (Waterwheel café stop) As always, fantastic scenery
.
Watch out for… Unpredictable sheep on road, particularly on the descent from the summit of Paddy Slack and a couple of cattle grids which can be slippery in wet/icy weather
