This is a big one! At just under 70km and with over 2000m of climbing it is sure to keep even the most robust of gravel bikers happy. We could call this route the quintessence of gravel biking as the majority of the ride is on well laid forest roads and gravel tracks but whatever your opinion we think you’ll love it! This circular tour promises spectacular views from high up above the Tweed Valley floor.

We like… A challenging ride (2031m of climbing!!) but with lots of escape options and although remote in places you are never TOO far from civilization if the weather changes. Breathtaking views and panoramas. Worthy of being called an EPIC!

Watch out for… This is a challenging ride – allow at least 5 hours for experienced, fit cyclists. Be appropriately equipped for all weather conditions. Check your brakes for those long descents!

Note: New holiday cabins being built at Glentress , so we suggest shortening the route and  starting the route by entering Caberston Forest at the Innerleithen Golf Club.

(due to diiversions in Glentress Forest ever changing as work progresses.)

The forest road via Caberston Forest  is currently open weekends only from Sept 2023 for 6 months approx. due to tree felling.
