Did you know that Innerleithen was founded by a monk travelling up the Tweed in a coracle? That the relics of Iron Age hill forts can be found on the summits of Caerlee Hill and Windy Knowe or that the writer James Hogg founded the St Ronans Border Games in Innerleithen, the oldest organized sports meeting in Scotland?

We like… quiet lanes, woodland trails and spectacular views from the tops of Caerlee Hill and Windy Knowe.

Watch out for… Two short steep climbs that will get the lungs working but worth it for the views from the tops. Give way to walkers.
